Electrolysis & Laser Associates West Roxbury

The practice is owned by Mary DiDonato, who has offered electrolysis since at least 1988 and added laser treatments as an alternate hair removal method in 2001. The business describes her and her associates as board-registered electrologists and certified laser clinicians.

Laser treatments are done with Candela Technologies lasers, and the practice does not use IPL devices. Its Candela GentleMAX system is described by the business as an American-made, medical-grade system that is FDA-approved for permanent hair reduction. During laser sessions a Dynamic Cooling Device is used to protect the skin around the treated area. Laser work covers facial hair as well as arm and leg hair, and the practice also treats medical and cosmetic conditions of the face, ears, and body.

Appointments are by appointment only, on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday, with both daytime and evening times available. Customer parking is on site. Clients are asked to avoid tweezing or waxing for three to four weeks before electrolysis, and to avoid sunburn and self-tanning products on the treated area for two to three weeks before laser treatment. Cash, check, and money orders are accepted.

Treatment plans are tailored to each client, and electrolysis follows sterilization standards with single-use sterile probes in a latex-free setting.
