Electrolysis by Rue

Electrolysis by Rue is run by Rue, a certified electrologist, in a quiet private studio in Selden, New York. Every appointment is one-on-one, so the client is the only person being treated during the session.

Electrolysis works on individual hair follicles, and treated follicles can be permanently disabled. Because it is gradual, the studio notes that most clients need a series of visits, and the number depends on the treated area, hair growth cycles, hormones and hair density. Sessions can be as short as 10 minutes or last up to an hour.

Before a visit, clients are asked to arrive with clean skin, free of makeup, oils and heavy products on the treatment area, and to avoid tweezing and waxing beforehand. The one-hour session is priced at $140. A free phone call consultation is available to talk through electrolysis and any questions, but it does not include an in-person visit.
