Electrolysis by Lori is run by Lori Weintraub from a private professional office in North Bellmore. The practice previously operated on Metropolitan Avenue in Queens. Clients are women, and the practice says it has treated thousands of women across Queens, Brooklyn and Nassau County. Some mothers bring their teenage daughters in for treatment.

Electrolysis is the core service, covering areas from the eyebrows, lip, chin and hairline to the neck, arms, hands, underarms, bikini area, breasts, stomach, legs and toes. The practice also works on pigmentation concerns, ingrown hairs, sensitive skin conditions and hormonal growth patterns. Permanent eyebrow shaping is offered too, including removing stray hairs around microbladed brows.

Each new client begins with a complimentary consultation to talk through the process and answer questions. Treatment is then scheduled around the client's growth pattern. Sterile disposable probes come in a range of sizes and materials, and the probe is chosen for each client after assessing skin and hair type. Numbing cream is available for anyone who wants it, and skin sensitivity is watched throughout the session.

Sessions are priced by length: 35 dollars for 15 minutes, 50 dollars for 30 minutes, 65 dollars for 45 minutes and 80 dollars for 60 minutes. Skin care services combining professional products, devices and holistic therapies are available only to existing electrolysis clients. The practice does not offer laser hair removal.

Treatment is built around a consultation and a growth-pattern assessment, with probes chosen for each client's skin and hair type and sensitivity monitored throughout, combining speed and skill with holistic health guidance where appropriate.
