From that conversation the electrologist builds a tailored treatment plan and schedule. Sessions run from about 15 minutes to more than an hour, depending on the area. Because hair grows in cycles, most people need several appointments, and the practice notes that consistent visits tend to reach permanence sooner than sporadic ones.
The practice uses three methods: galvanic, thermolysis (shortwave) and blend. Galvanic electrolysis can work with up to 16 needles at once. Services are organized by need and include treatment for athletes; coarse, curly or wavy hair, including ingrown hairs; dark skin; hormonal changes; men, including beard, neckline, ear, back, chest, eyebrow and shoulder hair; PCOS and hirsutism; sensitive areas, including the breast and nipple area; teens; and transgender clients seeking facial and body hair removal.
Cancellations need 24 hours' notice. Late arrivals are charged from the originally scheduled time, and appointments may be shortened to accommodate other bookings. Clients under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Payment is due at the time of treatment, and cash is the only payment accepted. Rates vary by type and length of treatment, so clients contact the practice for pricing. Treatments can cause a brief sting and slight redness afterward, and the practice suggests gently exfoliating beforehand and avoiding caffeine for a few hours before an appointment.
Treatment plans are designed individually after a personal, confidential consultation, and infection prevention follows standards written by the American Electrology Association.
