About

Electrolysis by Jane is run by Jane Varcadipane, who treats clients at two New Jersey locations. The Califon studio is in Victorian Square Mall, and the Far Hills location is inside June & Co. Salon. Electrolysis is offered at both, while the spa facials are listed only at the Califon studio.

Electrolysis is the core service. Each client gets an individualized treatment plan, and the first visit includes a health history assessment. The plan takes into account hair growth cycles, hair quantity and structure, previous hair removal methods, heredity, hormones, stress and medication. Treatments use shortwave (thermolysis), blend and galvanic modalities, and sessions run from about 15 minutes to more than an hour depending on the area. Most areas of the body can be treated, except inside the ears, including the chin, eyebrows, lips, jawline, underarms, bikini line, legs and back.

The facial menu runs from a 30-minute mini facial and teen facial to hour-long options such as the signature facial, sinus relief facial, deep cleanse facial and curative age-defying facial. Hydro microdermabrasion is offered in both 30-minute and one-hour versions. Pricing for facials depends on the treatment and its length, so clients are asked to get in touch to talk through their needs before booking. Add-ons include a glycolic peel, a lactic peel with green tea, a lift-me-up eye treatment and a re-elasticizing mask, each at an extra cost of $20 to $25.

Jane's background combines electrology with nursing and esthetics. She describes the approach as professional and personal, and she takes care with the cleanliness of the space where clients are treated. Visits are described as calm and comfortable, and the business states that its infection control follows AEA guidelines drawing on CDC, OSHA and APIC recommendations. Payment is due at the time of treatment, with cash and checks accepted. Cancellations need 24 hours' notice, late arrivals are charged from the original appointment time without extension, and clients under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

Builds each client's electrolysis plan around their own hair growth, tolerance and scheduling, and combines electrology with nursing experience.

The treatment space is described as clean, comfortable and relaxing.
