About

The practice offers electrolysis, a method that treats each hair on its own. It can be used on any part of the body and on all hair and skin pigmentations. The business states that electrolysis is the only FDA approved permanent hair removal solution, and says the FDA recognizes it as a permanent method when the follicle is successfully treated.

A first visit is an initial consultation of about an hour, priced at $90. It covers a walkthrough of the process, an exam of the hair and skin, a test treatment and then a treatment plan. Ongoing sessions are booked as 15 minutes ($70), 30 minutes ($85), 45 minutes ($100) or 60 minutes ($120), and longer sessions of 90 minutes or more are sometimes available.

Before a first appointment, hair needs to be long enough to grasp with tweezers, typically 48 to 72 hours of growth, so clients should not shave or pluck beforehand. Clients who continue laser hair treatments should stop them or leave three weeks between laser and electrolysis appointments. Clients are also advised to avoid tanning, saunas, hot showers and heavy sun, and to skip makeup on treatment day. Afterward, the area should be kept clean and left alone for 24 hours, and workouts or heavy sweating should wait 48 hours. Redness and swelling are common, and the business describes discomfort as usually slight. Clients may feel warmth, a quick prickle or a brief sting, and settings can be adjusted. Clients who would like a topical numbing cream can discuss one, generally compounded with lidocaine, with their physician.

Hygiene follows a set routine. Each treatment uses a single-use disposable probe and sterile filaments, touchable surfaces are cleaned with EPA approved disinfectants, instruments are sterilized, and staff wear gloves and masks. Clients are asked to wash their hands or use sanitizer first. Only the person booked for treatment may enter the treatment room, and anyone who is ill or has been in close contact with someone contagious is asked to reschedule. Cancellations or reschedules need at least 48 hours' notice, or a fee may apply. Clients who cannot find an open time can join a waiting list by email or voicemail.

The practice aims to offer permanent hair removal in a welcoming, confidential setting that is open to all genders, skin tones and backgrounds. It states that it serves the LGBT community.
