About

ElectraSpa has three locations. The Tacoma office is in the Pacific Ave Collective building, the University Place office is on Bridgeport Way West, and the Olympia office is upstairs inside Derma Med Spa. Street parking is available at each location. Because the business is a group of individual owners sharing one roof, each practitioner runs their own practice within the same space.

Electrolysis is the core service. It is performed with the Apilus system by Dectro, using galvanic, thermolysis or blend methods, and the settings or method can be changed if a client feels discomfort. Each client gets single-use sterile probes. The site describes electrolysis as the only FDA-approved permanent form of hair removal, and states that about 80 percent of treated hair is destroyed at the first application, with regular treatments needed to address each hair. Redness afterward typically lasts from a few minutes to a few hours. Face and body sessions are priced from $25 for 15 minutes up to $140 for two hours, and groin work is priced separately at $55 to $85. Genital and GRS electrolysis must be approved by the electrologist after a consultation.

New clients start with a free consultation. It covers paperwork, a conversation with staff about services and the process, and a test patch of electrolysis to check skin reaction. New client appointments run no longer than 30 minutes. Facials range from the $40 Express Facial, which includes cleansing, exfoliation and either extraction or massage, to the $95 Brightening Facial with three serums. Other options include a Signature Facial at $65, a Microdermabrasion Facial at $75 that uses a minimally abrasive instrument, and an Anti-Aging Facial at $85 described as non-invasive and aimed at fine lines, wrinkles and skin tightening. Back facials and extended extractions are also offered for clients with more congestion. Brow services include first-time waxing and shaping at $40, maintenance waxing every four to six weeks at $20, brow tinting, lamination and combined packages.

ElectraSpa School of Esthetics is a private esthetics school in Tacoma that offers esthetics training, state board prep and instructor training. It serves students from Tacoma, Lakewood, Olympia and nearby areas. The business says it pursues continuing education for its staff.

Clients can book and manage appointments online at any time, or call the business. Services of 60 minutes or less need 24 hours notice to cancel, and services over an hour need 48 hours. Late cancellations and missed appointments carry a minimum charge of $20 or half the service fee, whichever is higher, and cancellations with less than 12 hours notice or no-shows are charged in full. Clients who need medical documentation or appointment and payment storage pay an extra $15 per appointment. Prices are subject to change, and the business reserves the right to refuse service. According to the business, it was named a 2010 Crown in Town winner.

Electrolysis is offered with several methods, and the settings can be adjusted during treatment to keep clients comfortable.
