The studio describes its setting as supportive and compassionate. It has five private styling rooms, and each stylist works independently in her own room. The consultation room has a sitting area large enough for a client's support people, along with a large collection of wig, topper and CNC samples to touch and try on. Friends and family are welcome to join consultations and appointments.

A free consultation can be held by phone, by video through FaceTime or Zoom, or in person. Virtual consultations are available nationwide. Clients can call or text the studio at 713-781-2940, or email nicole@elanhouston.com.

Pre-designed wigs and toppers are usually ready within four to six weeks of the consultation, while custom-made pieces take three to six months after an in-depth consultation and measurements. Curated hair pieces are typically available in about two to four weeks, and fully custom pieces take several months. Every hair piece leaving the studio is customised by the team, with cut and colour work where needed, and hands-on education on care, styling and home maintenance comes with each purchase.

The CNC Hair System is a prosthetic described as designed with 3D scanning and printing and hand-crafted in Bologna, Italy. The studio says a CNC can be adjusted for chemotherapy-related density changes, mild thinning or total hair loss. Typical lead time from measurements to first delivery is four to six months. Payment plans are offered through a partner, Cherry. Some insurers may cover wigs, toppers and CNC systems, but the studio is out of network, so clients pay and submit receipts for reimbursement.

The studio combines education about hair loss causes and solutions with hands-on, step-by-step instruction on washing and styling new hair. It also works with a client's existing medical providers on diagnosis-specific education and solutions when ongoing medical care is involved.
