Ela Salon is set up as a home for independent stylists, each managing their own book and booking methods. The owner set out to rethink the traditional salon through careful attention to detail, a design that is both pleasant to look at and practical to work in, and genuine hospitality.

Clients book by contacting their chosen stylist directly rather than through a salon-wide booking system. Prospective stylists submit an inquiry, tour the space, and then sit for an in-person interview before joining.

Visits follow a few house rules. Guests are asked not to come along to appointments, and children are not permitted in the salon. Only service animals are allowed, and clients who need one should arrange it with their stylist before the appointment. Clients are asked to use earphones and to avoid speakerphone and loud audio.

Bridal hair and makeup is available for brides and their wedding parties, either on location or in the salon. The team includes stylists who list bridal and event makeup among their specialties.

Built around the experience of its stylists and clients, with hospitality, communication and respect guiding the day-to-day work.

The space is meant to feel soft and relaxed, with a bit of glamour.
