Eden's Root is an intimate salon loft in Columbia, Maryland, designed as a space for clients' self-care time. Because the salon is small, guests are not permitted to wait on site, so appointments are the way in.
Owner stylist Ericca Stamper runs the salon and handles the services herself. The menu covers natural hair styling, including flat twists, loc retwists and styles for coily, curly, wavy and loc hair, along with clip-in and sewn weft extensions, full color, highlights and balayage, virgin and Halo relaxers, and keratin or smoothing treatments.
New clients begin with a 30-minute in-person Let's Chat, priced at $25, to talk through hair goals and style ideas before any service is booked. The consultation must be booked along with the first service.
Extensions can be bought from dhairboutique or Go Sleek, or from a hair company the client chooses. Appointments carry a few firm rules: a $30 late fee is added if a client has not arrived within 15 minutes, arriving 30 minutes late without notice counts as a no-show, and cancellations made within 30 hours of the appointment carry a charge. If the stylist runs late, the client receives a discount on the service. Clients must be 17 or older.
Each new client starts with a consultation to talk through goals and style ideas before services are planned.
