A first visit starts with a paid consultation of 20 to 30 minutes, where the stylist talks through hair history, goals, routine and challenges. Clients arrive with clean, dry, detangled hair worn in its natural state, and the salon shampoos everyone on the day of service. The shared building's front door stays locked, so clients text when they park and the founder meets them at the door. Street parking is $2 an hour on weekdays and free on Saturdays, and a private lot next to the building is sometimes available for a fee, though it can be taken by theater events. Arriving 10 to 15 minutes early helps with parking and getting settled.

The menu runs from traditional and curl-specific haircuts to flat twists, cornrows, two strand twists, bohemian braids and updos. Loc services range from retwists and starter locs to loc removal, detox and a loc maintenance lesson. There are also curl maintenance coaching sessions for wash-day routines, a guide for parents caring for a child's curls, makeup applications and lessons, and photography packages including headshots, portraits and a combined curl styling and photoshoot. The salon does not offer synthetic extensions.

Hours are Tuesday and Thursday 10 AM to 5 PM, Wednesday 12 PM to 5 PM, Friday 12 PM to 7 PM and Saturday 10 AM to 2 PM, with Sundays and Mondays closed. Deposits apply to many bookings, and rescheduling with at least 24 hours notice carries a deposit over. Changes with less notice forfeit the deposit and may be charged half the service total, and no-shows are charged the full service total. Clients are asked to call or text, rather than use social media, for cancellations and scheduling.
