Duet Salon started in March 2015. Owner and stylist Tina Park leads a team that includes a senior stylist, independent stylists and an assistant. The salon describes its services as luxury. Everyone works from the San Jose location, which is unit 45 at 5152 Moorpark Avenue.

Each visit begins with learning what the client wants from their hair. Color services require an initial consultation by email before the first appointment, followed by a more detailed consult on the day. Hair extension consultations are free but have to be done in person so the color can be matched, and a 50% deposit is collected at that visit.

The menu covers cuts, color, lightening, deep conditioning, styling, texture services and hair extensions. Lightening options include balayage, babylights, highlights, peekaboo and global lightening; the salon notes that global lightening needs a refresh every four to six weeks. Booking can be done through the Boulevard platform, by text or by email. Reminders go out by SMS and email, and unconfirmed slots may be offered to other clients. Cancellations or reschedules made at least 48 hours ahead carry no fee, while late changes and no-shows are charged $100. Payment is accepted by contactless payment, debit card, credit card and cash, with a 3% service fee on credit card payments.
