Dream Locs focuses on protective hairstyles and describes its aim as finishing every style to a high standard. The listed services span box braids, knotless braids, feed-in braids, butterfly locs, faux locs, twists, maintenance visits and the Miracle Knots install, with a promotional rate on one deep wave option.

Clients can also have the stylist come to them for a home appointment, which costs extra.

Booking requires a $25 non-refundable deposit that comes off the total. The deposit cannot be moved to a different date, and a reschedule requested within 24 hours of the appointment lowers it to $15. Clients get a 15-minute grace period; after that a $10 late fee applies, and a visit may be cancelled if the client is 30 minutes late with another client booked after them, or an hour late when nothing follows.

For the visit, hair should arrive washed and free of product other than leave-in conditioner. Snacks, drinks and laptops or tablets are welcome, snacks are also sold on site through Dream Treats, and a television is available during the install. Children are not allowed unless arranged in advance.

The studio concentrates on protective styles and says it takes care to complete each one well.
