It now operates as a salon in Midvale alongside an online shop, so clients can book in person or buy accessories and made-to-order extension sets remotely.

Visits are by appointment only, with no walk-ins, and the salon is open Monday to Saturday from 9am to 4pm. Clients book by text or through the GlossGenius booking page. Consultations can be held in person or over FaceTime, and some services, such as synthetic full head installs, loc removal and natural loc installs, require one first. Hair should arrive clean and dry. If it does not, the appointment cannot go ahead as planned and half the service price is charged.

The menu covers dread installs using pre-made DreadX dreads, full and half head synthetic sets, and temporary braid-ins for clients who want to try the look first. Loc care includes crochet maintenance that pulls in regrowth and fuzz at the roots, root retwists, trims, color and style work, and repairs such as patching a loc with human hair or fixing a single loc. Extension work includes length extensions, weft installs and crochet tucks that smooth frizz without product.

Extension sets are made to order and handcrafted personally by Xima Katija. Custom colors are offered, and delivery takes four to eight weeks. Once an order is placed the sale is final, but a dread that falls out of a set can be brought back and fixed at no charge. The online shop offers free shipping on orders over $444 and payment plans through Affirm, Klarna or Afterpay.

Cancellations and reschedules must be made by text, and at least 48 hours notice is requested. Cancellations with less than 12 hours notice may incur a $100 fee. A card is saved on file, and no-shows carry a $100 fee. Fees may be waived for unavoidable circumstances with management approval.

The owner handcrafts every extension set personally rather than outsourcing it. The salon describes its work as all natural, with no wax or harsh chemicals on hair, and says its installs create a protective style for the natural hair underneath.
