About

Dreadlocks Denver was founded by Jacob Cohen, who ran the salon before Jason Kides acquired it. Jason first learned dreadlock work through an apprenticeship with Jacob Cohen, then joined the team before taking over ownership.

The salon is on the second floor of The Workshops in Glendale. The building has a private parking lot with accessible spaces and a large service elevator. Inside, the room is bright and plant-filled, with music playing and a comfortable chair, and the business describes it as a welcoming, relaxing place to spend time.

Services cover new installations in partial, half-head and full-head styles, custom extensions, hourly maintenance sessions, and repairs or reattachment. Installations, extension installations and major repairs over four hours begin with a consultation and a non-refundable $100 deposit, as do color services. Extension services need a free consultation before booking, and out-of-state clients can request a virtual consultation by email, usually answered within 24 to 72 hours.

Booking is by appointment only and is made online through Square. If Square has no openings, clients can text or email to book. Cancellations with at least 48 hours' notice carry no fee. A client who is 20 minutes late has the appointment cancelled or rescheduled, and a shorter delay is charged from the scheduled start. Clients with repeated cancellations, lateness or no-shows must leave a non-refundable deposit before booking again.

Dreadlocks are tied with a crochet hook method using a 0.60 mm hook to form small knots, which the salon says works on all hair types. The process uses no product, wax or rubber bands.

Bright and plant-filled, with music and a comfortable chair in a welcoming, relaxing room.
