Dr. Janet Vafaie practices dermatology from two offices, one in the Wilshire area of Los Angeles and one on Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu. The practice has served the Westwood, Beverly Hills and Malibu areas since 2008, and Dr. Vafaie has previously worked as an assistant professor before focusing entirely on this private practice.

The practice describes its work in three broad areas: medical dermatology for conditions such as acne, eczema, rosacea, psoriasis, fungal infections, vitiligo and hair loss; cosmetic dermatology for aging skin, scars and spider veins; and skin cancer care from diagnosis through follow-up, including Mohs surgery. Dermatologic surgery, such as removing moles, skin tags, warts, cysts and growths, is also offered, most of it under local anesthesia.

Cosmetic visits can include laser resurfacing, IPL photo facials, laser hair removal, SculpSure body contouring, Morpheus8 radiofrequency microneedling, dermal fillers using Restylane, BOTOX Cosmetic, and chemical peels. The practice presents BOTOX as a complement to filler and says treatment plans are customized to each patient's needs. Cosmetic services are not billed to insurance and are paid in full during or before the visit.

Dr. Vafaie's training includes an accelerated seven-year BA/MD program at The George Washington University School of Medicine, completed in 2003, followed by an internship, residency and fellowship at UC Irvine, NYMC and UMDNJ. Dr. Vafaie is board certified by the American Board of Dermatology and is a founding member of the American Board of Medical Specialties.

Treatment plans are built around each patient, and the practice says it customizes plans to individual needs across medical, surgical and cosmetic care.
