Down The Rabbit Hole Nail Salon

The salon is at 223A Progress St. on the edge of downtown Fredericksburg. The entrance is a light purple door on the left-hand side. Street parking is available, along with a small lot in the back.

The salon focuses on clean manicures and pedicures, using clean polish, gel polish and clean products. Services range from a basic manicure or pedicure with no polish to gel manicures and gel pedicures. The pedicures include soaks, scrubs, massage and hot towels, and the gel manicures include a hot towel, cuticle work and a finishing treatment with cuticle oil and lotion.

Nail art is booked in tiers: Surface Level (15 minutes), Go Deeper (30 minutes) and In Too Deep (45 minutes or more). Unhinged is a freestyle option on a gel manicure, and Trust Issues lets clients bring a mood board or designs for the artist to work from within a chosen tier. Art should be discussed by text or email before the appointment so supplies can be arranged. Art is timed and charged in 15-minute increments, with a $15 minimum.

Bookings are made by Instagram, text or email, and same-day appointments are not offered. The salon is accepting new clients with flexible schedules. Clients are asked to put their phones away during manicures. Cash is accepted in the exact amount only, and checks are not accepted.

Cancellations need 24 hours' notice by text or email. Cancellations within 24 hours and no-shows are charged 50% to the card on file. Clients who arrive more than 10 minutes late may not be seen for their appointment and may be charged a 50% late fee. Two no-shows, late cancellations or late arrivals in a year lead to a deposit for future services.

Gel removal done by the salon is free. Gel applied at another shop should be reported ahead of time so extra time can be added, and removing it carries a charge. Builder gel, acrylic or dip from another location must be fully removed before the first visit, because the salon cannot remove acrylics and hard gels. Free fixes are offered within 3 days of a service, and a fee applies after that.

Hours are Tuesday and Thursday 10 AM to 5:30 PM, Wednesday 10 AM to 7 PM, and Saturday and Sunday 10 AM to 5:30 PM. The salon is closed on Mondays and Fridays.
