Diamond Villela

Diamond Villela works primarily as a dry cutting studio. Stylists cut hair while it is dry, taking into account how each person's hair grows, its curls, cowlicks and density, rather than straightening or reshaping it to fit a set template. Wet cuts are also offered when a consultation shows that one is needed for the result a client wants.

Austin clients can book at a pop-up inside Wild Desert Beauty on East MLK, which runs roughly every six to eight weeks; exact dates are shared by email or through the email list. The Austin location's listed hours are Monday to Friday 11 am to 7 pm and Saturday noon to 4 pm, with Sundays closed.

Services are grouped into transformation cuts, standard haircuts, bangs trims and hair treatments. Transformation cuts are priced at an hourly rate of $150, or at a set $225 cut and a $150 dry cut. A two-hour haircut session is listed at $300. A bang trim, which takes about 15 minutes, is $40. Wash and style ranges from $115 to $150, and detox treatments, masks and scalp scrubs can be added on.

Before a visit, clients are asked to arrive with their hair worn the way it naturally falls or styled as usual, ideally washed no more than a day earlier. Hair should not be in a ponytail or pulled back, so the stylist can see the natural fall. Appointments are confirmed by text and email two days ahead, with options to confirm or reschedule. A 24-hour cancellation policy applies and is explained in the confirmation email. Clients are charged only for the time used, and if a service finishes early the bill can be adjusted at the end.
