Designs by Shoaf operates as a private studio within Salon Lofts Broad Ripple in Indianapolis. Owner Lauren Shoaf handles the haircuts and color work herself, so each visit is with the owner.

The haircut menu includes a Seasonal Haircut, which combines a dry cut with a wash and style over 75 to 90 minutes for $140. A shorter Express Dry Cut, at $80 and 30 to 45 minutes, skips the wash and style and is for clients whose cut was done by the owner within the past three months.

Color is offered as Transformational Color, covering balayage, foils or full coverage, priced from $240. Deep Treatments use organic ingredients for hydration, moisture, cleansing, clarifying and scalp care, and take about an hour; the price varies.

Parking includes free street parking a few blocks away, metered street parking on College Avenue, and garage parking.

Appointments require a credit card on file to reserve. Changes, reschedules and cancellations are free with at least 48 hours' notice. Late cancellations made 24 to 48 hours ahead are charged half the service price, and no-shows or same-day cancellations are charged the full price. The card on file is used to settle fees before the next booking. Repeated no-shows, late cancellations or unpaid fees may lead to future appointments not being accepted, and services are non-refundable.

Lauren Shoaf works as the sole stylist and owner, with cuts and color done in a private studio setting.
