DeMarc Hair Studio

DeMarc Hair Studio was founded in 1986 by owner and stylist Debra Schilling. It opened in its first location that year and moved to its current Clinton Avenue address in 1993. Hair services are on the bottom floor, and the spa treatments are upstairs in a space of about 1,400 square feet with light wood floors, cherry wood cabinets and black granite countertops.

The salon became a Philip Pelusi concept salon in 2004 and carries the P2 line, which the brand describes as all natural. Other products on the shelves include the organic Tela Beauty line and Redken Shades EQ color. Coloring is done with Dikson's system, and massage sessions use Young Living essential oils.

The studio offers complementary services for clients going through cancer treatment. As an official wig bank for the American Cancer Society, it has wig experts who help clients find a good fit. The salon also hosts charity events several times a year to raise money for local organizations, with past events supporting Operation Transformation and the American Cancer Society's Look Good Feel Better program.

Appointments are set up by phone, as online booking is not available.

The salon works from an analysis of each client's hair before recommending a treatment, and uses lines it chooses for their ingredients and standards.
