Deb Petrielli began taking weddings and special events right after earning her cosmetology license, and she has worked in the beauty industry for more than 14 years. Her freelance work also includes film, commercial and photo and video productions. When wedding demand grew beyond what one artist could take on, she built a bridal team of hand-picked Pro Team artists who work with a range of specialties.

The studio, known as Heirloom Beauty & Wellness Collective, houses work areas for professional artists, classes, and head spa treatments. Sessions there run 60 to 90 minutes and include a scalp analysis, deep hydration, exfoliation, massage, steam and aromatherapy, using NatureLab Tokyo products.

To book, you choose the team members you want, review the rate sheet and packages, and email the date, number of people and location. Weddings are handled through HoneyBook and require a signed contract and a nonrefundable retainer, and availability for a date isn't held until both are in place. Trial hair and makeup preview appointments are scheduled after the contract and retainer, ideally one to three months before the event.

Travel is not charged for events in Chicago. Surrounding suburbs may carry a travel fee, which is confirmed before booking, and destination events outside Illinois are quoted a custom travel fee. Large parties are accepted depending on team availability, and per-person service minimums that aren't met carry an additional fee. Concierge help can extend past the initial appointment with touch-ups, veil installation and removal, and day-of support.
