About

Dahlia Electrolysis is an owner-operated electrolysis practice in a suite at 310 NW 3rd Avenue in Canby. Adrienne Dahl runs the practice herself, and the business is set up as a limited liability company. The practice describes electrolysis as the only proven method of permanent hair removal and says it is effective across all skin tones and natural hair colors.

Electrolysis is offered in three methods: galvanic, thermolysis and blend. Treatment covers the face, eyebrows, neck, underarms, arms and hands, chest, abdomen, back, bikini area, and legs and feet. Hair inside the nostrils or ear canals is not treated, and areas where treatment would be unsafe for medical reasons are excluded. Single sessions for small facial areas run 30 to 60 minutes, while larger areas take one to two hours or more. Because hair grows in cycles, a full treatment plan usually runs several months to two years or longer, with multiple sessions.

It covers needs, hair growth patterns, treatment goals and relevant medical history. Treatment cannot be a client's first appointment, so the consultation comes first. Treatment is priced at $80 for 30 minutes, $105 for 45 minutes and $130 for 60 minutes. Extended appointments are available at a discounted rate, and promotional package discounts are offered. Clients may use a topical anesthetic before treatment if they wish. A new sterile, single-use probe is used for every session, following Oregon Health Authority regulations.

Booking is handled by request. A valid credit card is kept on file to reserve appointments but is not charged at booking. Requests are reviewed and confirmed by the clinic, and payment instructions follow approval. New clients complete the new client forms before their first visit. Appointments canceled, rescheduled or missed with less than 24 hours' notice are charged the full cost of the scheduled service, though that fee is waived if the time can be filled with another client. Treatment is not performed during pregnancy. Clients are asked to shave or trim rather than tweeze, wax or thread between appointments, and to stop retinoids and exfoliants, including AHAs, five to seven days before treatment. Medical information and photos should not be included in contact form messages.

The suite is private and comfortable, and clients often pair their appointments with a visit to Canby's local shops and cafés. Free parking is available, and the suite can be reached by a sidewalk entrance to the left of the building or through the large white doors.

The practice builds its work on the technical skill, biology and precision that permanent hair removal requires, with the goal of helping clients feel more comfortable and confident in their own skin.
