The salon's stated aim is to keep exposure to harsh chemicals to a minimum, with a longer-term goal of becoming a clean-air salon. Curly cuts are done dry in each client's natural pattern and finish in natural texture instead of a round-brush blowout, and the Curly Cut & Lesson is the recommended first visit for new clients.

Everything is booked online, since phone calls, direct messages and the contact form are not used for scheduling. New clients are asked to arrive with dry hair in its natural pattern, washed that day and free of ponytails, clips and brush products, while returning clients booking an express cut should arrive styled as they were at their last visit. Gift cards can be bought on the website.

The neighborhood is walkable, with restaurants, shops, cafes and breweries close by. Street parking is available in nearby residential streets and near the parks, and the Ace Parking North Park garage at 3829 29th St charges $1 per hour with a $5 daily maximum from 6AM to 6PM.
