Curl Suite Salon

Amber Ellis started Curl Suite Salon in 2015. The salon describes its mission as making high-quality natural hair services easier to access for everyone, and it lists gentle, clean, respectful and united as its values. Its focus also covers beauty, health, wellness and education. The salon describes itself as Denton's home for natural hair, beauty and wellness.

The menu covers box braids, knotless braids and feed-in braids, along with crochet braids, extension twists, haircutting, silk press, natural styles and loc services such as interlocking, traditional retwists and starter locs. Style takedowns remove braids, twists, crochet installs, sew-ins and other styles, done carefully to reduce breakage and shedding. Afterward, clients can add a shampoo, blow-dry, trim or new style.

Services are by appointment only. The salon is open Monday from noon to 7 PM, closed on Tuesday, and open Wednesday through Sunday from 10 AM to 7 PM. Every service includes a professional shampoo unless noted otherwise. Clients can pay with cash, card or digital payment. A station reservation may include a salon station or room, a shared shampoo area, hooded dryers, hair steamers, towels, capes, Wi-Fi, a break room and a locker when available. Stylists may add time if a service runs past its reserved slot, and there is an added charge to remove a previous style brought in still installed.

Cancelling with less than 24 hours' notice carries a $25 fee, which is added to the next service. The salon or stylist may waive it, including for medical emergencies. Completed extension styles are not refunded. Children are served from age 5, with no extension or color services under 8, and must be supervised at all times in the salon. There is no standard children's price, though a special return-visit price may apply when a child's service needs much less time. Animals are not allowed, except service animals. Clients are asked to share any allergies or sensitivities with their stylist. The salon is next door to Trendsetters Beauty Supply and shares a referral directory of independent businesses, where inclusion is not an endorsement.
