Curl Loft

Curl Loft is a natural hair care salon in a second-story space in the Arts District of Downtown Los Angeles. The salon describes itself as a sanctuary where artistry and expertise come together.

The menu covers haircuts and color, including fashion color. Fashion color guests email their color inspirations before the appointment, and most color services take about 4 to 5 hours. Haircuts for curly kids are priced the same as adult haircuts. The salon uses Innersense Organic Beauty and Original Moxie products in the salon, and both lines can be bought there.

Visits are by appointment only, with no walk-ins. Guests book through the Book Now button on the website, which shows available services and times. A confirmation email follows, plus a reminder 48 hours ahead, and changes are made through the link in that confirmation. Guests can ask by text about same-day openings or request a waitlist spot by emailing their name and phone number. No deposit is taken, but a valid credit card must be on file to book; the card is not charged automatically and is brought to the appointment. Payment is by major credit card, cash, or Zelle. Hours are Tuesday to Saturday, 11am to 5pm, and other times can be requested by email. Guests are asked to arrive with hair down, minimal products, and hair washed and detangled the day before.

Parking is on-street only, with free spots on Santa Fe between Banning and 2nd Street. Nearby parking structures are the Geary building and the Aliso building. Cars left in the alley may be towed.

Curl Loft leases two chair rental spots to independent stylists. Each one is a private space with round-the-clock access and powered salon chairs. Renters get free Wi-Fi, laundry handled on site, towels and a back bar, plus client refreshments, storage, and every utility covered. According to the salon, the rental space delivers a premium client experience.

Guests are encouraged to embrace and love their natural texture, with a low-maintenance approach to caring for curls.
