Students can earn a cosmetology diploma in under ten months. Early study takes in hair anatomy, sculpting, cutting, shampooing, the use of grooming implements, and cleanliness standards. Later modules address texture changes, hair coloring, lightening, skin care, nail care, and makeup application. Other material includes manicures, pedicures, facials, facial waxing, salon business, retail product knowledge, and front-desk tasks. The course is structured to get students ready for the Virginia Board for Cosmetology Licensure Examination and state licensing. Enrollment is open year-round, and classes meet Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 3:30 pm.

The salon is run by students working under a licensed instructor and is open Tuesday through Friday from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm. Clients can book appointments or come in as walk-ins when the schedule allows. Color services include a haircut and style, and a $20 upcharge applies to longer or thicker hair that needs extra product. Tuition is $16,500 with $1,500 for books and supplies, a total of $18,000. The school does not offer room or board, but financial aid is available to students who qualify, including federal options such as Pell Grants, Stafford loans and PLUS loans.
