CS Hair Studio

The studio is in Suite C150 at the Lofts 2 and 3 building on Dove Sail Lane in Columbia. Services are grouped by hair type, from straight and wavy types 1 to 2C through curly types 3A to 3C and coily types 4A to 4C, so clients can see what applies to their hair.

Most visits start with a Virtual Client Consultation, a 30-minute session for $50 that can be held online or in person. It covers lifestyle and routine, a hair analysis for type, texture and concerns such as dryness, thinning, frizz or damage, style suggestions, and service options with pricing and timing. The consultation is required for first-time clients and for anyone making a major change. A virtual link is sent before the appointment.

Signature offerings include the CS Signature Blowout at $135, which takes at least 1 hour 45 minutes and includes a custom shampoo, scalp massage, a deep conditioning treatment chosen from Moisture Boost, Smoothing and Frizz Control, or Bond and Repair, and a blowout in Classic Volume or Sleek and Smooth. Color + Blowout at $175 covers a root retouch, custom color such as highlights, balayage, all-over color or a full color change, a blowout and a trim. Crochet Hair Extensions at $300 and the GK Hair Keratin Smoothing Treatment V2 at $300 are also offered. The keratin treatment is formaldehyde free and described by the salon as vegan, and the salon says its results last up to 4 months. Clients are asked to wait at least 12 hours before washing hair afterward.

Custom extensions are also available. Chanel Stylist Extensions are made to order in custom colors, textures and installation methods, and are booked through an extension consultation. For crochet extensions, the salon directs clients to a consultation for recommendations.

Men's services include Ultimate Grooming at $65, a barber cut with shampoo, scalp massage, a hot steamed towel treatment and styling, taking 45 minutes or more. Brow Sculpting starts at $25 and uses waxing, tweezing and trimming, with options to add an under eye mask, tinting, or tinting and lamination. The salon says tinting and lamination hold brows in place for 4 to 6 weeks and that the under eye mask reduces puffiness, dark circles and fine lines. It also states that brow services are performed by skilled, licensed professionals.

Color + Blowout, the keratin treatment and crochet extensions require a non-refundable deposit that is applied to the final total. Deposits can be moved to a future appointment with at least 24 hours' notice, while no-shows or same-day cancellations forfeit the deposit. Gift cards are sold on the website, where balances can also be checked.

Consultations come first for new clients and for anyone planning a major change, and clients can choose a virtual or in-person session.
