Crowned by She'

Crowned by She' takes new clients by referral, so anyone booking for the first time needs to name the person who referred them. The studio is open Tuesday through Saturday, with Sunday and Monday closed, and hours run from 8 or 9 in the morning to 6:30 in the evening on weekdays and until 3:30 on Saturdays.

Visits start with a deposit: $25 for services of $100 or less and $50 for larger services. Deposits are non-refundable but count toward the service, and one transfer to a rescheduled appointment is allowed with at least 24 hours' notice. Any remaining balance is paid on the day of service by Zelle or cash. Hair is included in every service except crochet braids, and natural hair needs to be at least 4 inches long all around. Clients who are unsure whether their hair qualifies can text or email ahead.

Timing and preparation matter here. Changes to hair color or length have to be requested at least a week ahead, because hair is prepped the day before. Men's and boys' services require hair to be fully detangled before arrival, and relaxed hair should wait two to three weeks after a relaxer before braiding. Clients with thinning edges, alopecia or other hair concerns are asked to fill out the hair questionnaire. Booking for a child lists the child's name first, followed by the parent's name.

Cancellations need at least 24 hours' notice. Later cancellations are charged the full service amount and require a new deposit to rebook. Late arrivals get a 10-minute grace period for emergencies only, after which a $15 fee applies for each additional 10 minutes. The studio also charges a $100 convenience fee for last-minute or squeeze-in appointments. Wi-Fi is available for clients who want to work during their appointment.
