Creative Hair Design began in 1999 as a kiosk business selling hair products at expos, fairs and similar events. Five kiosk locations opened about six months later. The Roseville location opened in 2009, and the Hastings location opened in 2016.

Both locations offer free consultations. Wig and topper fitting is built around the individual: each piece is assessed and then trimmed, thinned and reshaped to suit the client. Custom-made wigs are made from the client's own measurements. The Roseville location opened with more than 300 mannequin heads on display, and the business says it carries the largest in-stock wig selection in its region and the largest collection of alternative hair in Minnesota.

Roseville is appointment only and is three blocks north of Rosedale Mall on Fairview Avenue. Hastings welcomes walk-ins and sits near the river, off Highway 61. The average appointment runs 30 to 50 minutes, and private fitting rooms are available. The business says about 80 percent of customers leave with their wig on the day of their consultation.

Non-surgical hair replacement starts with a 30-minute in-person consultation and is a custom system designed to blend with existing hair. Stock pieces start at $675.

The business says it is focused on high-quality service and customer satisfaction.
