Cosmic Wax Studio

Cosmic Wax Studio is a waxing and skin care studio in Austin, Texas, run from a private suite inside a residence at Creek Bend Drive. It has taken clients since 2021. Founder and owner Katie Gaebe does the waxing herself, and skin care specialist M'Kenzie Quick leads the facial work under the Cosmic Facials name.

Waxing is the studio's core service, and appointments are timed by area. A Brazilian wax takes about 15 minutes, a full face wax 30 minutes, and full arms or full legs 30 minutes each. Smaller areas such as ears, nose, toes and the upper lip take 5 minutes each, and shoulders or underarms 10 minutes. The studio calls its waxing the best in Austin, a claim it makes about itself.

Facial and body treatments include the Cosmic Mini Facial (30 minutes), the Cosmic Signature Facial (50 minutes), and the Moonlight Melt Facial, a 2-hour extended session with custom skincare and a longer massage. The Cosmic Lash Lift takes an hour and lifts natural lashes without extensions. The Back Glow and Bikini Glow treatments, 50 and 40 minutes, cleanse, exfoliate and hydrate their areas. The Vagacial/Booty Facial, 60 minutes, is for ingrown hairs, scarring or discoloration, for clients who wax or shave. A 30-minute Mini Vagacial is booked alongside a Brazilian wax and includes ingrown hair extractions and a jelly mask. According to the Cosmic Facials booking profile, prices run from $50 for the Mini Facial to $150 for the Moonlight Melt.

Electrolysis is offered as permanent hair removal, charged by time rather than by body part. The studio says it suits all hair colors, textures and skin tones. Products are sold at appointments while stock lasts, including Fur Oil, Ingrown Concentrate, All Body Wash, Silk Scrub, Microdart Patches and Fur Trio, and Esthemax skincare. Sample sizes are available for $5 when full sizes are out of stock, and discounted refills are offered when clients bring in empty containers.

Clients are asked to exfoliate the night before a wax, wear loose breathable clothing, and avoid caffeine beforehand. For 48 hours afterward, the studio advises avoiding heat, sweat, bacteria, swimming and sex. Recommended waxing intervals run from every 3-4 weeks for the head area to every 4-6 weeks for arms, legs, chest and back. Cancellations, service changes and rescheduling made within 24 hours of an appointment are charged a fee equal to the services booked.
