Contrapposto

Contrapposto was established in 2023 by Nick and Casey Axelrod-Welk. Alongside its clinic, the house works in bespoke skincare and fine fragrance.

The clinic sits on La Cienega Boulevard between Waring and Willoughby Avenues, near Melrose Place. Visitors enter through a white ivy-covered gate beneath a black awning marked 822. Valet parking is offered on Waring and La Cienega at Sally Hershberger Salon.

Appointments are booked by phone, text or email. A consultation lasts 90 minutes and covers your goals, your anatomy, a suggested plan and, where it is indicated, treatment that day. The $400 consultation deposit is credited toward your treatment plan. Treatment pricing is provided by emailing the patient coordinators, and before and after images are available on request.

The clinic describes its framework as evidence-based and scientifically rigorous. Its view is that aesthetics is a form of medicine, and each patient is treated as an individual anatomical case rather than being moved through a fixed protocol.

The fragrance line is made up of three extraits de parfum: Lubanite, Melting Flowers and Musc Pétille. Each is roughly 20 to 30 percent oil, sold in 50 ml bottles at 350.00 USD, and is vegan and Leaping Bunny-certified. The fragrances are composed by master perfumers in New York and Paris and bottled in Los Angeles. Standard shipping is complimentary for US customers.
