About

Colour Beauty School trains students for careers in hair, skin and nails. The school says it values innovation, professionalism and excellence. Students work on live clients in a student spa and skin clinic, with services performed under the supervision of qualified instructors as part of their training.

The cosmetology program runs 1,000 hours and covers cutting styles from classic to clipper and fade work, blow-drying, styling and updos, color work including balayage and color correction, one-to-one eyelash extensions, skin care, makeup, and advanced manicure and pedicure techniques. Coursework also includes hair structure, client communication, business and sales skills, and preparation for the state board exams. Texas requires cosmetology graduates to complete a state-approved program and pass the state exam for a license, and the school states its graduates are prepared for both the written and practical parts.

The esthetics program runs 750 hours and covers facial massage and treatments, skin analysis, hair removal, extractions, exfoliation, lash and brow tinting, and aromatherapy, alongside anatomy, skin physiology and applied nutrition. Advanced training includes microdermabrasion, microcurrent, chemical peels, LED light therapy, custom facials and acne treatments. Graduates are eligible for the state esthetics license exam, and the school says former students have gone on to work in med-spas, medical offices and laser clinics.

The manicurist program runs 600 hours, can be finished in about 30 weeks, and covers basic manicures and pedicures, nail structure and growth, anatomy, nail and skin disorders, sanitation, and electric filing. Advanced work includes tips and wraps, nail repair, sculpted, gel and fiberglass nails, and nail art. Graduates are eligible for the state nail license exam, which has written and theoretical parts.

Students can choose day, afternoon or custom schedules, and some programs are offered in Spanish. Admission requires a completed application, an admissions interview, a valid government-issued photo ID and a Social Security number, and applicants receive a written decision after documents are reviewed. Financing includes monthly, weekly and biweekly payment plans, with no initial deposit on the monthly and weekly options. Career services help with job searches, though the school states it cannot guarantee placement for manicurist graduates. Prices are not listed online, so prospective students need to call admissions for current costs and program start dates.

Clients of the student services should book in advance where possible, since student availability depends on class schedules and progress. Visitors who bring children aged 17 or younger should review the school's child safety policy before booking.

The school prioritizes hands-on training on live clients under instructor guidance, with coursework in the science behind each service.

Training takes place in a student spa and skin clinic, and the gallery shows student work in eyelash extensions, makeup and skin care.
