Color of Fashions is run by Olga V, who created the business and works as both hairstylist and makeup artist. Because it is a mobile service, artists come to the client's home, a venue or another location the client picks, rather than having clients visit a fixed salon.

Hair services include bridal updos, curls, half-up half-down styles, and haircuts with a blow dry. Brazilian Hair Straightening is a keratin-based treatment priced by tier, starting at $145, with tiers at $165 and $190, and the site says it suits curly and wavy hair and lasts about three to four months. The business says it considers this treatment a better option than Japanese straightening and that it is safe for the hair.

Two approaches to makeup are available here. The traditional option draws on premium lines such as Benefit, The Balm, Fenty, Huda, MAC, Nars, Smashbox, Tarte, Urban Decay, Kat Von D and Inglot. Airbrush work uses a Dinair system, which the business says is water-based and contains no alcohol, oil or silicone; according to the business, wear time runs past 12 hours, or roughly 18 hours with the heavier paramedical foundation. Airbrushing is used to conceal spots, tattoos, scars, wrinkles, blemishes and dark circles. Should the power go out mid-application, the artist completes the look with traditional makeup.

Booking requires a signed contract. Events should be booked two to three months ahead, ideally four. A 30% non-refundable deposit secures an event date, and wedding dates are reserved with a $60 non-refundable deposit on a signed contract; parties of two or more pay the 30% deposit. No date is held until the contract and deposit are received. A $100 cancellation fee applies if the client does not cancel within 24 to 48 hours of the event. Adding people to a signed contract does not guarantee them a time slot if it conflicts with the schedule. The final balance is due on the day of the event in cash, by PayPal, by Venmo, or by check made out to cash, and full payment is due even if the client is not fully satisfied. Prices may change, and add-ons are charged at the current rate. Trials are held on weekends from 10:00am to 2:00pm, with digital photos emailed afterward. Hair services need a table near a working outlet, good lighting and a chair. Travel is free within Queens, Brooklyn and Long Island, costs $45 to $55 for Manhattan, and ranges from $25 to $150 for farther locations, quoted at inquiry based on distance and tolls. Bookings are made by phone or email. The business also sells bridal accessories, including headpieces, jewelry, garters, flower girl baskets and Sweet 15 and Sweet 16 headpieces, and describes itself as an authorized dealer for these. It also sells Touchstone Crystals by Swarovski jewelry and Bdellium makeup brushes.
