The school offers full-time day sessions and hybrid evening sessions. Hybrid students take online classes on Mondays and Fridays and attend in person from Tuesday through Thursday, between 5:30 and 10:30 pm. Cosmetology is a 1000-clock-hour program that runs about 8 months on the morning schedule, or 10 months in the hybrid evening format. The school notes that about 450 of those hours are technical instruction in a classroom and student salon, and that students begin working with clients after finishing the novice curriculum, under licensed instructor supervision. The cosmetology course is also described by the school as a first step toward a state cosmetology license.
The esthetics program runs 600 clock hours and can be finished in roughly five months of full-time attendance. Its first stage, about 180 hours, covers skin care fundamentals; students then advance to senior status and start working on clients. Topics include facials, skin treatments, waxing, makeup application, skin care ingredients and infection control. The program is built to prepare students for the California State Board licensing exam. The barbering program is 1,000 clock hours, and the school says a student can get through it in as few as eight months of full-time study. Coursework spans haircutting, hair color theory, hairstyling, shaving, gentlemen's facials and infection control, progressing from classic straight-razor technique to contemporary styles. Graduates may apply to sit for the state barbering licensing exam.
The student salon is open Monday and Friday from 10:30 am to 4:30 pm and Tuesday through Thursday from 10:30 am to 6:30 pm, and is closed on weekends. The school serves both men and women, and its salon menu includes men's and women's cuts, color, styling, nails, makeup, skin care and waxing. Clients under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who stays on the premises and signs a release, and children must be at least five years old to be served. First-time clients must complete a chemical test before any chemical service. Seniors receive 25% off salon services on Mondays and Wednesdays. Visa and Mastercard are the accepted payment methods, and a service may be redone once within seven days of the visit.
The school says its instructors keep up with current techniques and trends, and it emphasizes hands-on mastery of barbering skills. It also helps students through financial aid, the license application and the first job search.
The school describes its classes as small, and students say they get more one-on-one time with teachers.
