Cindy Dao Salon operates from an upstairs suite on Veterans Blvd in Kenner. Services are grouped into hair, brows and waxing with tinting, nails, and lash work, which covers both Korean lash lifts and lash extensions. The website states the salon is run by a licensed cosmetologist.

Booking is done in advance with a non-refundable deposit that secures the appointment and is sent through Zelle or Venmo. The deposit depends on the service: $40 for lash appointments, $50 for hair color, and $20 for nails and other services. The remaining balance can be paid by Zelle, Venmo, Apple Pay or cash.

New clients have a few steps before their first visit. Lash clients complete a consent form and arrive with no face or eye makeup. Color clients text a photo of their current hair, showing the back with the hair parted in half, and share their hair history for the past three years, including past color type, hair texture and density, goals and any reference photos. Lash clients booking a full set also book a removal, and the salon does not work over lash extensions done by other artists.

For brow and waxing visits, clients are asked to pause retinol, tretinoin, actives, benzoyl peroxide, exfoliants and acne products for 48 hours beforehand, and to let hair grow to about a quarter inch before a waxing appointment. Clients get a 10-minute grace period for late arrival, and appointments not attended within that window are canceled. Rescheduling is allowed once, up to 24 hours ahead, and children, extra guests and pets are not permitted.
