Chrysalis Hair Designs is a hair salon at 1372 Granville Rd. in Newark, Ohio, open Monday through Thursday from 10 AM to 8 PM, Friday from 10 AM to 5 PM, and Saturday from 9 AM to 4 PM. Haircuts range from bold changes to simple trims. Color work includes customized color and color refreshes, and styling covers blowouts, updos, custom waves, and smoothing treatments.

Waxing at the salon covers brow shaping and gentle hair removal. The salon also has a wig and hairpiece service that began as a way to bring hair loss solutions to the local area, so clients did not need to travel to Columbus for specialized hairpieces. Options include full wigs, hairpieces, and halos in human hair, hybrid, and synthetic styles. A $45 wig consultation, by appointment only, goes toward the cost of any wig purchase.

Corrective color, creative color, balayage or ombre, and hair extension appointments begin with a free consultation. A non-refundable $50 deposit is requested at that consultation to reserve the appointment. Cancellations on services with a paid deposit need 48 hours' notice or the deposit is forfeited, and single appointments need 24 hours' notice. Arriving 10 minutes late may mean rescheduling, condensing, or splitting services. Guests who miss two appointments without calling, or cancel under 24 hours, may be placed on a restricted list, and the salon may ask for a prepaid gift card on file for no-shows. Complimentary adjustments are offered within 7 days when a guest reports dissatisfaction within 24 hours, pending management approval.

The salon uses Keune color and lighteners. Its in-salon care line, Eufora, is made with aloe vera, plant-based proteins, and essential oils, and it is free from sulfates, parabens, and artificial fragrance. The salon describes its Eufora aloe vera as certified organic and states that Keune has more than a century of color-making behind it. Eufora products have a 7-day exchange period and are otherwise non-refundable. The salon accepts all forms of payment; NSF checks carry a $35 fee for the first occurrence and $50 for the second.

The salon describes first visits as comfortable, with designers working together as a team, and designers can advise clients on at-home care routines.
