He designs each cut around the individual's face shape, features and personal style rather than applying one template. He leans toward soft, structured shapes and uses a range of cutting techniques to build the shape, texture and length of each cut. Pixie and men's cuts take about 1.5 hours, women's cuts about 1.5 hours, and longer cuts about 2 hours.

Alongside the salon work, he makes visual art. Framed Buddha Faces pieces are priced at $85 each, and some have already sold. Envelope Portraits is a set of 50 illustrated portraits of artists, authors, inventors and scientists. The Crane Quilt is built from nine 3-by-3-foot wooden panels and 1000 origami cranes. The FEATHER collection is charcoal on paper, dated 2016.

The studio is open Tuesday from 11 to 6, Wednesday from 11 to 4, Thursday from 11 to 6, and Saturday from 12 to 6.

Each cut is designed for the individual's face shape, features and style, with a preference for soft, structured shapes.
