Based in Woodridge, this studio is devoted to curly hair, from loose waves to tight coils. Owner and stylist Christina Maxwell does the cutting and styling herself, and the menu is organized around each client's curl type and age.

Hours are Monday 9 AM to 9 PM, Tuesday 9 AM to 3 PM, Friday 9 AM to 5 PM and Saturday 8:30 AM to 5 PM; the studio is closed Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday. Clients who cannot make an appointment are asked to let the studio know as soon as possible so it can be rescheduled. Buy Now, Pay Later is available for bookings from $50 to $4,000, with approval needed before the appointment.

New clients booking the full Custom Curl Cut get a longer session that includes a detox, deep conditioning treatment and style, while returning clients can book a shorter wash-and-style cut. Clients who come in every four to six weeks for color can add a crown lift to a color appointment.

Children have their own tiers, from toddler cuts for ages 1 to 4 through child cuts for grades K-5 and student cuts for grades 6-12. Color work includes single-process color, highlights and glosses, and there is a hair color analysis session that looks at value, contrast and depth. Bridal and special occasion styling are priced by consultation.

Curly hair is the sole focus, and each service is customized to the individual rather than standardized.
