Chenerology Electrolysis

Chenerology Electrolysis is a clinic in downtown Fairview, Oregon, that offers electrolysis permanent hair removal, including gender-affirming electrolysis. Electrolysis is by appointment only. According to the business, electrolysis is the only FDA-approved method of permanent hair removal.

The clinic was founded and is run by its owner, Chenery Whittier, who works directly with each client. Plans are built around each client's needs and budget, and the stated aim is treatment that is safe, effective and affordable. A free 15-minute consultation is offered before booking. Late-night appointments are available, and specific times or dates can be requested.

Face sessions are priced at $65 for 15 minutes, $90 for 30 minutes, $120 for 45 minutes, $140 for 60 minutes and $280 for two hours. Body sessions run $90 for 30 minutes, $120 for 45 minutes and $140 for 60 minutes. Bikini, Brazilian, genital and gender-affirming surgical prep sessions are $195 for one hour. A community affordability program is also offered.

The clinic is a preferred provider for Oregon Health Plan clients and takes all OHP clients. It lists CareOregon and Trillium among the insurance plans it works with. Gender-affirming care requires prior authorization through OHP, which can take up to three weeks. The authorization needs a letter of support or documentation of care from a medical professional, a photo of the current insurance card and the new client form.
