Founded in 1995 in Norwell by Charles 'Buddy' Dudley and David Honeycutt, the salon drew attention early on when its colorist's work was featured in Vogue. After several expansions, it moved into its Hanover flagship in 2008, and over the following years added locations in Plymouth and the Pinehills. The company marked its 30th anniversary in 2025.
The salon describes itself as one of Redken's top Massachusetts color salons. It says it won Redken's Salon of the Year award in 2004, 2006 and 2008, was the first inductee into the Redken Hall of Fame in 2010, and is one of 310 Redken Elite Salons in the US. It also says it was named to Salon Today's list of fastest growing salons in America for eight consecutive years, and that it won Best of the South Shore awards for its women's salon and hair colorist in 2025. The salon emphasizes education and hospitality alongside its color work, and states that it values diversity and inclusion and supports community outreach.
Stylists advance through a Level System, and guests can choose a stylist level that fits their needs and budget. Newly graduated beauty school students complete a one-year program taught by the salon's Educational Directors before starting as Level 1 Stylist/Colorists. Team members keep training throughout their careers, and service providers are paid on commission rather than an hourly wage.
A few booking rules apply. New guests may be asked to secure their first appointment with a $50 non-refundable deposit. Changes or cancellations need at least 24 hours' notice, with 48 hours preferred; shorter-notice cancellations are charged half the service value and no-shows are charged in full. Guests who expect to be more than 15 minutes late should call. Children under 10 are generally not booked, so parents need to arrange childcare during appointments. The full service amount is payable on the day of the visit.
Redken color is applied only to new growth, with conditioning glazes refreshing the ends, and the salon uses imported natural enzyme developers instead of peroxide developers.
