Changes City Spa began in 1983 as a children's salon and grew into a full-service hair salon for the whole family. In 2001 it added City Spa, which offers hourly retreats it calls daycations. The stated aim is to serve families and the local community.

The business describes itself as a national award-winning team. It also says it has served clients for about 40 years.

Reservations are made by a salon coordinator by phone or online. The salon is open Tuesday through Thursday from 9am to 7pm, Friday from 9am to 6pm, and Saturday from 9am to 5pm, and it is closed Sunday and Monday. The call center closes 30 minutes before the salon does. The spa is a phone-free adult environment where guests are asked to keep noise low. Children are allowed when receiving a service, and a guardian may be asked to stay depending on the treatment. Guests are advised to arrive about 15 minutes early, since appointments are scheduled precisely and end on time.

Spa guests receive bathrobes, sandals and disposable undergarments, and staff are trained in draping to protect modesty. Massages are led by Certified Massage Therapists who help choose the technique. Facials are customized with Rhonda Allison, Cosmedix or Osmosis products after a consultation with a skin care specialist. Products used during treatments are sold in the spa boutique for home use.

Treatments are shaped around a consultation, and the team continues its education through in-house training with several product and device partners.
