The historic hotel was completed in 1901 and is still in use. The name was changed to Carson Hot Springs in the early 1970s. The resort is one of the properties of HotelCo, which also lists the Elk Ridge Golf Course. The resort describes itself as the only resort in Carson and the Columbia Gorge with a traditional bathhouse using mineral hot springs water.
The Bath & Wrap gives each guest a personal tub of hot, unchlorinated mineral springs water followed by a wrap. A 50-minute soak without a wrap is also offered. The bathhouse is gender-separated and clothing is optional. The therapy pool is a gender-neutral space with a large communal pool of hot, chlorinated mineral springs water and a smaller cold plunge pool. Swimsuits are required there, and day-use guests can stay up to two hours per day.
The spa offers deep-tissue massage from licensed massage therapists, hot stone treatments, facials and body wraps, and a sauna is available. Spa services are booked by calling the front desk or booking online. Spa treatments can also be added to an overnight stay. Bathhouse and therapy pool services are for adults 18 and older, and photo ID may be required.
Overnight guests have a choice of cabin-building standard rooms, deluxe rooms with balcony hot tubs, and suites with fireplaces and kitchenettes. The golf course has 18 holes, a par 71 layout that plays more than 6,500 yards from the black tees, and a links-style design with 40 bunkers. Isadore's Kitchen + Bar at Elk Ridge serves Pacific Northwest dishes with an Italian influence and has a private dining room and upstairs event space.
The resort focuses on traditional soaking in mineral springs water at a historic bathhouse, with spa treatments available alongside it.
A historic, mountainous rural setting in the Columbia River Gorge, near hiking, biking trails and waterfalls.
