Carlo's Salon opened in 1999 in a retail storefront on Highway 74 in Peachtree City. Carlos Rodriguez started cutting and styling hair there with three other stylists, and the shop grew into the salon, which now operates at 284 GA-74. The salon was founded to offer one-on-one, personalized service in a pleasant setting, and it describes its service as a high-end salon experience.
The salon has invested in education from its early years. In 2000 it began hosting annual educational events with national artists from Redken, and in 2001 it arranged training for staff with several color artists. In 2003 it joined a salon business development group and worked with a business coach, and in 2005 it hired a salon consulting and management firm, which led to a benefits package and a stylist training system. Today the salon runs an apprenticeship program and has a salon educator on staff.
A visit starts with a consultation, during which the stylist talks through your goals and recommends services. Consultations are complimentary, and the salon offers one before major color changes, color corrections or extensions. Appointments are recommended, and walk-ins are welcome when the schedule allows. For color services, the salon asks that you arrive with clean, dry hair washed 24 to 48 hours beforehand and avoid heavy leave-in products or oils right before coloring. Pricing is not listed online, so the salon asks clients to call for quotes.
According to the salon, client personal information is kept private, and clients are asked not to share their contact details with stylists directly. The salon takes part in local community life, lending its support to the Alzheimer Association, Smile Train, the American Cancer Society, the Southern Crescent Kiwanis Club, The Welcome House and the Senoia Historical Society. It is a member of the Fayette County Chamber of Commerce, sponsors the Sprint for Students 5K and its kids run, and works with school programs at several Fayette and Coweta County schools as well as Peachtree City Elementary School.
The salon describes its culture as team-based and invests in developing its stylists through training. It also says it shares technical and business know-how with other area salons.
A pleasant, personal setting built around one-on-one service.
