The company traces its start to Tucson, where its first destination opened in 1979. Mel Zuckerman, who is credited with founding Canyon Ranch, decided in 1978 to change a sedentary lifestyle, and that decision led to the business. John Goff is the owner today. The company says it has operated for almost five decades and describes itself as an early leader in integrative wellness. Austin, on the shores of Lake Travis in the Texas Hill Country, opened as a new all-inclusive wellness resort.
Each property has its own setting. Tucson, in the Sonoran Desert, has four hydrotherapy pools, including Watsu therapy pools and underwater treadmills, along with more than 200 spa and fitness services and over 35 optional daily activities. Lenox, in the Berkshires, pairs more than 200 spa and fitness services with all-inclusive dining prepared by chefs. The Austin spa spans 40,000 square feet with 40 treatment rooms, beside The Barn, a 27,000-square-foot fitness center. Its amenities include a music pool, two saunas, steam rooms, three hot tubs and two cold plunges. Austin also runs a dedicated Women's Wellness practice. The Las Vegas spa and fitness space covers about 134,000 square feet inside The Venetian Resort and offers more than 100 services, including The Ammortal, a 50-minute session that combines red light therapy, vibration, breathwork, guided meditation, sound therapy and molecular hydrogen. In Fort Worth, the club sits in the Cultural District inside the Crescent Hotel, covering about 26,000 square feet with an 11,000-square-foot spa and a 9,000-square-foot gym. It is open to the public for memberships or guest day visits.
The Beauty Sandwich facial line was created by celebrity facialist Ivan Pol, who has over 20 years of experience. These facials are non-invasive, with no needles, no lasers and no downtime. There are three 50-minute options: Snatching Sculpt + Lift, which uses radio frequency, oxfoliation, ultrasound and micro-massage; Snatch Sculpt + Glow, which uses ultrasound, micro-massage and CO2 oxfoliation; and Snatching Touch, a technology-free facial built on hands-on sculpting and massage. Snatching Touch is offered at all five locations, and Sculpt + Lift at Tucson, Austin, Las Vegas and Fort Worth. Resort guests can apply their spa and fitness credit to any Beauty Sandwich facial, and the business says the Snatching Touch skincare is all-natural and organic, hand-blended in the UK.
Planning a visit depends on the location. Tucson bookings are made through a Tucson Wellness Guide or the app, Austin reservations begin with a call from the business to plan the stay, and Las Vegas spa services can be booked directly or walked into. Las Vegas guests are advised to arrive about an hour before a scheduled service. Reservations can be made by calling (866) 494-9279. Resort stays require a two-night deposit that is refundable up to 21 days before arrival. Guests must be at least 14 years old, and some experiences have additional age limits. Complimentary round-trip transport is offered from Tucson International Airport, from Albany International Airport, Bradley International Airport or the Albany-Rensselaer train station in Lenox, and from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport or Horseshoe Bay Resort Airport in Austin. Austin and Lenox include a wellness welcome gift on arrival.
Packages are priced per guest per night, with Book 4 Nights, Stay a 5th On Us starting at $1,000 at Tucson and Lenox, Lenox Midweek Bliss starting at $1,100 for Sunday through Wednesday stays, and Austin All You Can Spa starting at $1,975. Gift cards start at $50, with options such as a Canyon Ranch Spa Day gift card at $500 and a Fort Worth year of massages at $2,500. Fort Worth also offers membership trials, with one week at $298 and 30 days at $460.
The business describes its approach as integrative wellness covering mind, body and spirit.
Settings range from a Sonoran Desert resort and a Berkshires property to a lakeside Hill Country campus on Lake Travis and a spa inside The Venetian in Las Vegas.
