Canvas + Mane was founded by Monique Johnson, who wanted to bring hair salons back into the community and create a workspace where other artists could do their own creative work.

Hair services cover color, cuts, extensions and custom units. Makeup is offered on its own or as a bridal package that covers the bride, bridesmaids and other members of the wedding party. Makeup is tailored to the wedding dress and the client's overall style, with looks that run from soft and elegant to bold and glamorous.

Clients book in-salon services online, and a consultation is booked first. Custom wigs are ordered through an order form, after which the team contacts the client. Custom wigs need a 7-day construction period before they are ready.

The retail side includes C+M hair oils and hair products, Brazilian, kinky curly and Cambodian hair, clip-ins, custom units, ready-to-wear wigs and beauty items. The salon describes itself as rated number one in Atlanta and says its customer service is second to none.

The salon aims to build healthy relationships with clients and healthy hair.
