About

Butterfly Garden Spa has been providing spa treatments for 17 years, according to its home page. It serves both men and women from its location on Middle Neck Road in Great Neck.

The spa combines European-style services and pampering with Asian rejuvenation and therapeutic techniques. Its massage menu runs from Shiatsu and Swedish to sports, hot stone, pregnancy-related and reflexology work, with reflexology available as an add-on to any massage.

Body treatments use natural ingredients and salts from around the world. The Asian Body Cleaning uses a coarse exfoliation towel without chemicals or abrasive ingredients, and the Soothing Salt Scrub combines mineral-rich salts, ayurvedic oils and natural vitamins.

Facials start with a zone-by-zone skin analysis called Face Mapping. The Butterfly Personal Facial is tailored after a consultation and examination, while the Garden Facial focuses on anti-aging and includes a vitamin and hydroxy acid exfoliation, massage, a specialized masque and an at-home skin care consultation.

Free parking is available in a garage beneath the building, with more parking at the rear. The spa is reachable by elevator or staircase. Lockers, robes, towels, slippers and water are provided to clients.

Groups can book a 6,300-square-foot venue with five whirlpool tubs, a room for manicures and pedicures, a rejuvenation room, two steam saunas, and two locker areas with showers. There is no separate space fee, but parties need a minimum number of treatments per person, set by group size. Guests may bring food, champagne and wine into the garden seating area and the bar. Past events have included sweet sixteens, teen gatherings, bridal and baby showers, bachelorette parties and company get-togethers.

Policies to know: a mandatory service fee applies to each service, and there is a 30-minute or 1-hour service minimum of $15 and a 90-minute minimum of $25. Card payments carry a 4% technology fee, while cash payments do not. VIP room reservations need 24 hours' notice to cancel, otherwise the full session amount is charged. Gift cards can be bought in person or by phone and are sent as an emailed gift certificate. Hours are Monday to Friday 10:00 am to 6:00 pm and Saturday and Sunday 10:00 am to 8:00 pm, with different pricing for appointments after 6:00 pm on weekdays and after 7:30 pm on weekends.

The spa blends European spa services with Asian rejuvenation and therapeutic techniques. It states that its therapists and estheticians are fully certified and licensed and continue ongoing training.

The spa describes its setting as tranquil and luxurious, with a garden sitting area.
