Visits focus on medical care rather than cosmetic procedures and begin with a diagnosis. The dermatologist explains diagnoses, treatment options and preventive steps in plain terms, and patients are seen by her directly rather than by an assistant. New patients are welcome, and staff contact them after an appointment request form is completed. Most routine office visits take about 30 minutes. New patients are asked to bring a completed New Patient Form, along with their current prescription medications and the name, location and phone number of their pharmacy.
Acne care is tailored, including evaluation for hormonal acne and customized plans for teens and adult women. Treatment may combine prescription topical or oral medication, antibiotics, hormonal treatment, chemical peels or light-based therapies. Melasma plans are shaped around each patient's skin tone and needs, with options that include broad-spectrum sunscreen, hydroquinone, chemical peels and laser treatment. Chemical peels are personally evaluated, selected and performed by the dermatologist, not by aestheticians or technicians.
Keloid care can include silicone sheets, pressure dressings, topical retinoids and steroids, cryosurgery, steroid injections, laser treatment and surgical removal, often combined with other treatments. Razor bumps are treated with topical or oral antibiotics when infection is present, and laser options are also offered. Skin cancer services include annual full-body screening, mole evaluation, biopsies with laboratory testing, and treatment such as surgical removal, Mohs surgery, freezing, laser surgery or prescription creams for some early cancers. Radiation or chemotherapy may be used for advanced cases through physician referral when needed. Procedures are performed on site, and the practice does not sell creams or potions.
The practice starts with a diagnosis and an evaluation of what is contributing to a skin concern, then matches treatment options to the patient. It says it aims to keep medications at reasonable prices and surveys pharmacies for the lowest cost of commonly prescribed drugs.
