Brush & Hush was created by El, a hair play artist, as a relaxing sensory experience built around having your hair brushed in a calm, comfortable space where no one is judging you.
There are two formats. Brush sessions use a range of brushes and hair-play tools, and conversation is welcome. Hush sessions are no-talk, so nothing is said during the appointment. Every session comes with a blanket and water. Ultimate sessions add a weighted blanket, a relaxing eye mask and moisturizing hand gloves, Full Hush includes a weighted blanket, and a weighted blanket can be added to a Full Brush.
No scents and no hair products are used during appointments, and no oils are applied either. Hair must be washed the same day and fully dried before each service. The studio runs Thursday to Sunday, and its hours vary from one day to the next.
Deposits depend on the session length and format. Cancelling at least 24 hours ahead makes you eligible for a 50% refund of the appointment fee; later cancellations and no-shows without notice are not refundable. Buy Now, Pay Later is available for in-person bookings between $50 and $4,000, with approval needed before the appointment. Existing package credits apply automatically at checkout when booking on the services page.
Sessions are built around calm, sensory hair brushing, with the choice of conversation or complete quiet.
