Brows By Jenny Duong is a cosmetic tattoo studio at Sola Salon Studios in San Jose, focused on brows, eyeliner and lips. The studio describes itself as the Bay Area's best cosmetic tattoo service; that is the studio's own claim.

About

Visits are by appointment only, Sunday through Tuesday from 8am to 5pm. New clients can start with a free 30-minute phone consultation or a $30, 30-minute in-person consultation, with separate options for eyeliner and lips. Booking deposits are non-refundable: $100 for brow, eyeliner and lip services and $30 for brow lamination and tint. Cancellations and no-shows within 48 hours are charged 20% of the service amount, and new clients forfeit their deposit on a late cancellation or no-show.

Numbing cream goes on before the session, with a second numbing gel used during it. A completed brow usually takes two sessions: an initial visit of about 2 hours and a touchup 6 to 8 weeks later, though some clients need more. The studio explains that cosmetic tattoo is semi-permanent, depositing pigment in the upper skin layer, and that it fades over time, typically lasting up to 2 years, while most clients can still see the brow shape after 10 years.

Touchup and colorboost pricing applies only to existing clients of the studio. Brows tattooed elsewhere are charged full price, and touchups after 2 years also require full price. Before booking, the studio lists conditions and recent treatments that rule out semi-permanent cosmetics, including pregnancy, diabetes, chemotherapy, recent Accutane or retinol use, and recent Botox or chemical peels. The studio is registered with the Santa Clara County Health Department, holds a biomedical waste permit and states that it is insured.

The work is restrained and built around a structured brow, with the look shaped over one or more sessions and touchups.
