Bronze Baré

Bronze Baré is a mobile spray tan business that serves Chicago and its suburbs. Rather than sending clients to a studio, the provider comes to the client's location with professional equipment and supplies, so each visit is a private, one-on-one appointment.

The menu is short. There is a full-body spray tan, and a Luxury Spray Tan with a premium formula that includes skincare ingredients intended to nourish the skin. Both are applied in a shade selected for each client's skin tone. The business describes the service as personalized rather than one shade for everyone.

The tan is built on DHA, which develops color by reacting with amino acids in the outer layer of skin. Some solutions also contain a cosmetic bronzer that gives immediate color and washes off during the first shower. The salon describes its spray tan as organic. Spray tan does not protect against UV, so clients are asked to keep using SPF on exposed skin.

Preparation and aftercare are part of the visit. Clients are asked to exfoliate 24 to 48 hours beforehand, shave or wax 8 to 24 hours before, and arrive with clean, dry skin free of lotion, oil, SPF and deodorant. The provider sets the time of the first shower based on the formula used, and clients should avoid showers, swimming and heavy sweating until then. According to the salon, results may last up to 14 days with proper aftercare, though duration varies by skin, products and activity.

Regular hours are Monday to Friday, 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and regular appointments can be booked through Square. Appointments before 10:00, after 18:00, or on weekends carry a $20 surcharge and are arranged by Instagram, SMS or email instead. Clients should mention any allergies, skin sensitivity or past reactions to cosmetics before booking, and patch testing may be possible. Minors may be booked only with a parent, mother, father or legal guardian present.
